Richard Newman

Richard Newman is the founder and Managing Partner of Atlantis Associates, Inc. In a lengthy and varied career, Richard has been a senior executive, turnaround consultant, private equity investor and principal, board member of both public and private entities, company founder, angel investor, and an investment advisor. Currently, he is the CIO of Lava Wealth Management, an independent registered advisor firm. Richard is also a director of the board of Zive, Inc., a SaaS company, a member of the board of directors of Overgrad.com, a for-profit education platform company assisting schools and students with college and career readiness, and a member of the advisory board of CertifyOS, a health care company providing online credentialing and licensing for medical professionals.

A strong believer in acknowledging and reciprocating the help he has received from others, Richard has served on a number of committees and in a variety of roles for the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He also serves as a member of the board of directors of Trickle Up, an organization focused on helping the poorest people in the world, and as a board member of CCOM (Concerned Citizens of Montauk), one of the leading environment-focused organizations on the east end of Long Island. Richard received a B.A., with honors, from Brown University, and both an MA (Education) and an MBA from Stanford University. He is happily married to Dr. Amy Pollack, another senior partner in the firm, with whom he shares the love and guidance of their two daughters. He enjoys theatre, art, golf, skiing, running, writing, and hanging out in Montauk, NY where they have long had a home.

Amy Pollack MD, MPH, FACOG, FACPM

Amy Pollack is an obstetrician/gynecologist and business executive with leadership experience in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors with a focus on public health, medical devices, and the trade-off between safety and efficacy in the healthcare industry. She has served as a business partner in co-managing P&L’s, both globally and domestically, and as a subject matter expert creating systems to bridge the gap between upstream R&D, market strategy, and post-market intelligence in both developed and developing markets. Amy has helped advance the broad acceptance of disruptive technologies such as transcervical sterilization, colonoscopy procedures with less invasive pillcam technologies, and minimally invasive lung biopsy.

Working across the innovation lifecycle, Amy has driven go-to-market utility assessments for the commercial sector and helped conduct pre-acquisition due diligence with an eye both to individual care and enterprise success. She operates effectively in highly complex and matrixed environments with decentralized P&Ls, navigating internal, external, and regulatory stakeholder relationships.

Amy’s leadership experience in the non-profit sector includes 10 years as CEO of EngenderHealth, managing 400 people operating in 30 countries. Subsequently, as a member of the global executive team and senior director at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, she created the Foundation’s first strategic platform for collaboration between upstream R&D and the Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, Family Planning, and Nutrition teams. She has worked closely with multilateral organizations (UNFPA, UNICEF, and the World Health Organization) and bilateral bodies, including individual government development organizations across the globe. Amy has committed her career to improving lives through increased access to life-saving health interventions especially for women and children. She has a special interest in coaching and mentoring talented women, empowering them to confidently deploy their voice, skills, and visions, and advance their professional and personal growth.

Amy is mother to two daughters and lives in New York City with her husband. In her free time she pursues her lifelong interests in painting, travel, gardening, and keeping fit.

Nic Di lorio

Nic Di lorio is a global executive leader with extensive CIO/CTO experience. He founded, built and headed large multicultural, award-winning tech teams across the globe. He has a history of building globally distributed organizations bringing successful new technology-based product and service innovations to market. Nic is an investor in the start-up community, an active board member at several privately held companies and organizations, and a Mentor at Columbia University. He has held executive roles at large and small, global and national, publicly-listed and privately-held companies.

Grant Donovan

Grant is a proven entrepreneur with successful experience building and mentoring startups. He has run companies involved in international shipping, finance, and product development using his skills in getting ideas to market. He has been a strategic director and board member of high growth companies including a NYSE listed turnaround. Grant has an engineering degree from the University of Vermont and an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
